ShareAction is working to change the world by changing how money is invested.  Institutional investors like pension funds invest ordinary people’s savings in ways that have real world impacts on issues such as climate change, human rights, and biodiversity. They have a huge amount of power and we look to hold them accountable for how they use it. One of the key ways we do this is through our surveys and public rankings of the world’s largest institutional investors.  We expose best and worst practice and aim to drive up standards across the industry.

This is an exciting time for our Surveys team. In 2017, we took over the work of the global Asset Owners Disclosure Project and our research has become more international and more impactful. The team has a fantastic and ambitious programme of work planned and we are looking for a highly motivated team member to join us in its delivery. As part of this team, you will be at the forefront of setting the standard for how money can be invested to help society meet the needs and challenges of the 21st century, particularly in relation to climate change and the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Our credibility relies upon a careful and considered approach to developing survey questions, designing the surveys, and collecting data.  We also enhance the impact of our surveys by producing compelling reports and doing follow-up one-to-one engagement with investors on how they performed and how they can improve. The Research Officer will work within an existing team to contribute to all stages of survey design, data collection, and report writing on our planned programme of surveys. There is also scope to develop skills in respect of project management, advocacy on the survey results, and engagement with investors.
