We are proud of our dynamic staff team at ShareAction, which comprises a committed group of individuals with impressive credentials and a diverse and complementary range of experience.
Overseeing our staff team is our Board of Trustees. We are also supported by a number of interns who receive the London Living Wage.
Catherine Howarth, CEO
Catherine joined ShareAction in July 2008, having previously been the founder and lead organiser of West London Citizens. Earlier in her career she was Senior Researcher at the New Policy Institute.
Catherine is a board member of Green Alliance. She was a Member Nominated Trustee of The Pensions Trust (the multi-employer pension scheme for the UK's not-for-profit sector) for five years until Spring 2013. She served for four years on The Pensions Trust's Investment Committee.
Catherine holds a First Class BA in Modern History from Oxford University and an MSc in Industrial Relations from the London School of Economics.
In June 2011 Catherine was named a 'Rising Star of Corporate Governance' by Yale University's, Millstein Center. In 2013, Pensions Insight featured her as one of the 50 most influential people in pensions and in May 2011 Investment and Pensions Europe called her one of the 'top ten women in pensions'. Catherine was recognised by the World Economic Forum as a Young Global Leader in 2014.

Louise Rouse, Director of Campaigns and Engagement
Louise joined ShareAction in September 2009. She leads on engagement with investors and listed companies for the organisation's environmental, social and governance investor engagement projects. Prior to joining ShareAction she worked as a finance lawyer at Arthur Cox, solicitors in Dublin. Louise served a two year term as an elected member of the Council of the Law Society of Ireland and was a member of the CCBE (Association of European Bar Associations) committee on corporate social responsibility. Louise holds a First Class B. Corp. Law and a First Class LLB from the National University of Ireland, Galway and an LLM from University College Dublin.
Emily Kenway, Head of Projects
Emily joined ShareAction in March 2012. She works on a range of ShareAction's campaigns and research projects including the Charities Responsible Investment Network and Capital Action. She previously worked at Toynbee Hall and the Guardian. She holds a Bachelors and a Masters in Music from the Royal College of Music and is currently completing a MSc in Social and Political Theory.
Matt Davis, Head of Media and Communications
Matt joined ShareAction in August 2014. Beginning his career in journalism as the investment reporter at Money Marketing, Matt went on to win several awards for his investigative work covering politics and law enforcement in the United States. His work has been published in outlets including The Guardian, People Magazine and Agence France Presse. He most recently led business development in a multi-platform setting at Brickwall, a digital creative agency in Shoreditch. Matt holds a First Class English degree from the University of Sussex, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Periodical Journalism from the London College of Communication.
Camilla de Ste Croix, Senior Researcher
Camilla joined ShareAction in December 2013. Prior to joining ShareAction she worked as a Research Assistant to an MEP at the European Parliament. She holds a BA in French and Russian from Bristol University and an MSC with Distinction in Global Politics from Birkbeck College, University of London.
Bethan Livesey, Policy Officer (on maternity leave)
Bethan joined ShareAction in March 2013. She works on all areas of ShareAction’s policy work, with a particular focus on parliamentary engagement. She is also responsible for ShareAction’s 2013 survey of pension funds. She previously trained and worked as a litigator in the City of London. She holds a First Class BA (Hons) in Philosophy from the University of Cambridge.
David Clarke, Policy Officer
David joined ShareAction in November 2013. He leads ShareAction’s engagement with policymakers and supports the All Party Parliamentary Group on Responsible Investment. He has a background in public affairs and campaigning. David holds a BA in Politics from the University of York
Rebecca Newsom, Campaign Manager
Rebecca joined ShareAction in March 2014. She coordinates ShareAction's campaigning and supporter activity for the 2014 AGM Season. Prior to joining ShareAction, Rebecca was a Senior Account Manager at PLMR, a public relations and political lobbying agency based in Westminster. She is also Chair of Trustees for Elizabeth’s Legacy of Hope, a charity supporting vulnerable amputees in less developed countries. Rebecca is currently studying for an MSc in Environment, Politics and Development at SOAS, University of London.
Katherine Baird, Campaigns Coordinator
Katherine joined ShareAction in October 2013 to coordinate and support a range of ShareAction campaigns, with a particular focus on the Green Light campaign. She previously worked at Envision and the Transition Network. She holds a First Class MA (Hons) in International Relations from the University of Edinburgh.
Lisa Nathan, Research and Engagement Officer
Lisa joined ShareAction in October 2013. She supports ShareAction's research and campaign work on the Living Wage. She previously worked for a global union federation in Switzerland and on a number of campaigns for economic and social justice in the United States. She holds a BA with highest honours in Peace and Conflict Studies from the University of California, Berkeley.
Sophia McNab, Education Officer
Sophia joined ShareAction in May 2014 to develop and run the Empower Programme, ShareAction’s environmental education programme for Londoners. She has a background in climate change campaigning in the UK and at the UN Climate Talks. Sophia holds a First Class MA (Hons) in History from the University of Edinburgh.
Bex Hay, Digital Campaigns Officer
Bex joined ShareAction in July 2013 and leads the digital engagement and strategy work of our campaigns. She previously worked with a number of campaign organisations including ActionAid UK, 38 Degrees and Love Music Hate Racism. Bex holds a BA in Modern History and Politics from the University of Oxford.
Colette G. St-Onge, Digital Campaigns Assistant
Colette joined ShareAction in April 2014. She supports the work of the campaigns team and provides ShareAction's internal digital design services. She previously worked on campaigns and research projects at the Cambodian Centre for Human Rights and the Business & Human Rights Resource Centre. She holds a BA (Hons) and MA in Religious Studies from the University of Ottawa (Canada) and a First Class LLM in Economic, Social and Cultural Rights from the National University of Ireland, Galway.
Jo Mountford, Responsible Investment Officer
Jo joined ShareAction in February 2014 as an Intern and has worked as the Responsible Investment Officer since August 2014. Jo assists with our work with asset owners on Responsible Investment, primarily the Charities RI Network. She previously gained campaigning experience with charities including CAFOD, Bond and Oxfam. She holds a BA in Anthropology from Durham University and an MSc in Development Administration and Planning from University College London.
Pamela Coleman, Finance Manager
Pamela joined ShareAction in November 2013, having spent over 13 years in financial roles and several years prior to that as an Office/Finance Manager. Pamela has worked mainly in not-for-profit organisations most of her career. Pamela holds a BSc (Hons) in Combined Studies (Law with Accounting).
Nicola Cullen, Executive Assistant to the CEO
Nikki joined ShareAction in June 2014 after spending several years developing her financial knowledge working in the foreign exchange and mutual funds industries. As Executive Assistant, Nikki supports the CEO, Catherine Howarth, in fundraising projects and campaigning. Nikki holds a LLB in Public International Law from the University of Hull and is currently studying for a Master’s degree in Development Management through the Open University.
Amy Bradley, Office Administrative Assistant
Amy joined ShareAction as the Office Administrative Assistant in March 2014 after working for Tesco for seven years in various roles including Manager.
