Michael joined ShareAction in March 2018 to coordinate our shareholder activism. He builds and manages the network of AGM activists who engage FTSE 100 companies on a range of environmental, social, and governance issues at their annual general meetings (AGMs). He collaborates with our campaign teams and external organisations to ensure AGM activists are empowered to be effective and informed about these issues, the corporate context, and the change needed.
Michael has always sought to influence corporate behaviour and improve the impact of companies on communities. Previous to joining ShareAction, he worked with Fareshare to develop national supermarket surplus food redistribution schemes. He also set up a community café while a sabbatical officer at Sheffield Student’s Union, and successfully lobbied the University of Sheffield to divest from fossil fuels.
