AGM Training 2013

Become a Shareholder Activist
AGM Training with ShareAction

10-4pm, Friday, 15th February or Saturday 16th February 2013

After an impactful and eventful year of shareholder activism in 2012, ShareAction is running training for individuals who want to ask tough and intelligent questions of company directors at their AGMs in 2013.

Places on this training are free but trainees are expected to attend at least one company AGM during 2013. Practical support will be provided by ShareAction on the logistics of AGM attendance.

If you'd like to hold the UK's biggest companies to account on executive pay, their environmental record, human rights, Living Wages, or any issue you're passionate about, then this training is for you. Sessions include:

  • Why shareholder activism is so effective.
  • How to make the most of an AGM opportunity, and not fluff your lines.
  • AGM practicalities: what do you need to know?

The training will include workshops on social and environmental issues which ShareAction, our member organisations and individual supporters plan on taking to companies in 2013, including remuneration and climate change

Friday 15th Feb's training day is held in association with ACCA and will include a session by ACCA's Head of Corporate Goverance at 29 Lincoln's Inn Fields, London WC2A 3EE.

Barrie Stead, a 2011 trainee, who has since asked questions at many AGMs, said: "The training that ShareAction provided was essential - it taught me what to expect and gave me confidence"
